"The decision to choose the enemy is generally thought of as a chaotic and random event fueled by the circumstance of injustice but paralleled by the finite rate of purpose" - Charlie Sheen

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night Comrades!

As I'm sure pretty much everyone who pays attention to the global news world wide is aware of the recent events in and around the U.K. So I know opinions on this are at a high. I will start at some form by beginning that habitually in the UK people are apt at sweeping things under the rug. In a spell of the past 5 months around the UK there have been "protest for justice" marches led by (British race equality campaigner) Lee Jasper for the lives of people who have died whilst in police custody from Kingsley Burrell to musical sensation Smiley Culture. The latest name in a list that over time has reached a toll of well over 300 was 26 year old Mark Duggan who last week was shot dead by police officers in Tottenham (London).

It has been reported that on that particular protest for answers around his death an altercation with the police on the scene sparked violence to ensue between protesters & officers. What then transpired was an unnerving that not only resonated with the victims family and supporters of the injustice but a civil unrest that was so wide spread it evoked the involvement of socially disaffected youth, student protesters, looters, hooligans & a whole lot more! It became a scene of chaos where from the news (through media outlets) most of us around the country watched various cities around London go up in flames.

At first I had to look objectively was this a flash mob? Or was this a firing shot of revolution against an establishment that the masses of the people had clearly become restless of. Or was it mindless thuggery as the media and politicians had depicted it. Coming from where I'm from I have saw many visions of mindless thuggery from petty crime to lost lives through carelessness and it struck me with those that hold such debilitating effects I haven't witnessed such a media storm or out rage towards than that of looted high street stores.

Within a matter or days the unrest intensified as we saw images or burning buildings, stored being looted, and a majority of young people from all ethnic backgrounds getting there figurative "hands dirty" some with heinous acts which could be defined as plain vandalism. I had concerns that similar events would follow in Birmingham, as being a part of the communities public & private sectors I hold an awareness that people hold a similar affinity. It did "kick off" in Birmingham with looting and rioting in the city center. Many stores burglarized & even a police station set a blaze (in what seemed to be a political act). By the next day like a ripple effect alarm bells rung in Walsall, West Bromwich, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol! & other cities across the U.K. with similar actions.

The events lasted a few days making worldwide news and culminated when the Prime Minister returned like a superman-esque hero to the U.K. vowing to solve the afflictions the "people" have with the police's lackluster response. 3 men whom were forced into vigilantism protecting there business because police had been ordered to stand down from immediately solving the issue lost there lives, and countless others were hurt physically, mentally & emotionally left reeling. The youth were criminalized as having a sickness, many were fast tracked though the legal system, parents were scorned and over 16,000 police were added to the city streets at which things soon subdued as some applauded.

Hmmm now we get to the fun part (though this topic doesn't bring me joy) contrary it fills me with sorrow. I was extremely disappointed in how swiftly that people were to slander the Youth of the country with looking at the contributing factors. I feel an unrest has been there with the detachment of a lot of children & young people from adults in society. Instead of looking at it from an issue of Criminal Justice should it not be treated as a Public Health issue?? Where we are looking at youth who have been transgressed by society and feel they have little or no place that truly matters.

We saw David Cameron describe there youth as having a sickness, religious groups pontificate, youth workers express there frustrations (some stupidly even saying there ashamed of there nationality as if to imply one set race of people took part). But what I failed to hear anybody really ask is WHY?? Why is there this detachment which the youth, WHY?? was the police ordered to stand back and create future unrest? WHY?? did it cease when it did at an almost instantaneous halt!!
The answer you may ask for lies in between the lines! England is known for being a country that ultimately sweeps things under the rug over a cuppa and a biscuit, whereas situations like this occur many times over all around the world but here uprising happens none. Now I'm not saying that this was a revolutionary event as there are many facets I disagree with. But it had the power to be which became consumed by some senseless acts such as muggings.

En the aftermath I wonder has insurrection stemmed from an isolation induced society what marginalize those whom failed to meet the status-quo. With reports of provocateurs socially manipulating the poor pockets of society to engage in such disarray for the sake of a profit seeking enterprise. Despair seemed to spring forth in volumes.

Its hard for the simply minds to weigh the hazard to the benefits, but when looking where the situation stands now we have a system of one camera for every 14 people (maybe more). A fast track prison system including something I's never saw before in court hearings at night!! I mean violent criminals have received bail for more immense crimes yet 14 year old's where rushed in and out of court to jail. I for one feel a huge disservice has been done to the youth where fences should be built and solutions put in place not those that suit the government but the people. Now we will see much more stringent control measures which will effect the civil liberties and basic human rights of us all.

My standpoint on this is one that strives for the establishment of good and I live my life for truth, freedom, justice & equality. Amongst those whom evade chaos and strive for peace not among those who create corruption on the earth. Moving forward from this I have released a song that encompasses not only the defense of the youth (not defending the negative effects) but the cause and making some sense of there plights but also being a voice for the voiceless at a time of turmoil. it has been wonderful to see the communities pull together in such a tough time and if it wasn't just misfortune that evoked such love and solidarity the world would be a much more free and better place. That's my 2 pence!!

P.S.
I will also be working on a grass roots documentary of how people feel about what went on and how we all can move forward positively and build together, and anything else I can continue to do to be an advocate for the rights of children, young people, and the masses of the people.

Below is a video of some of my thoughts, hope you enjoy!

Below is a record i wrote inspired by the events.
