The Mystery of PLANKING

Now cadres im sure most of you are aware of the phenominon known as planking which as been sweeping the social networking sites, for those whom are unaware Planking is described as the practice of lying down flat with arms to the side , to mimic a wooden plank. With the idea of doing this at work or obscure places such as on sculptures, benches etc totally wherever the person sees fit! With that said there have been rumors of people dying whilst attempting planks which I think is greatly exaggerated and now the following message which has been going around on FB/BBM “Planking has roots in slavery. Slaves captured in Africa were stowed away on ships during the “Middle Passage” journey during the late 16th century. Slaves used the planks as beds. The act of “planking” became a fad by two guys traveling through England, but actual planking began at the start of the slave trade as captured African were transported by ships to the New World.PLANKING!! Slaves were chained and attached to pla

Blog - #DiaryOfATiredBlackMan "Emotions"

Dear Diary, After a recent stint of events its been brought to my attention that I'm an extremely emotional guy! Now I don't have a problem with it but I understand that as a male there is a strong expectation on the "machismo" that we show. When I think back as early as I can remember my sensitivity has always been there, I have a big heart and really feel pain for others. I recall the first time I went Jamaica with my family I was probably around 8 years old we stayed in the country with our native family which was an experience in its own in terms of how they lived without the luxuries we're fortunate to have. On one particular me and my cousins were told that a goat was going to be killed for dinner and we could watch. My initial response was that of feigned exasperation, maybe I was going with the excitement of everyone else but not knowing what to expect I stood by distantly. It started with the kid (baby goat) being tied at the ankles then hung from a tre

Sports - Haye leaves Germany empty-handed after Klitschko delivers masterful title defence

David Haye's dream of ultimate heavyweight glory ended in frustrating disappointment in the rain in Hamburg. The WBA world champion lost his title as he failed to live up to his pre-fight boasting - dismissed by his opponent as trashtalking - and left thousands of his travelling fans upset by a lacklustre performance against Wladimir Klitschko, who comfortably held on to his three titles with a unanimous points victory. Haye later blamed a broken toe for his defeat, saying: 'I might not have been at my best but I gave it as much as I could. I couldn't push on my right leg. Something happened in training and I didn't want to pull out. Belt up, Haye: Wladimir Klitschko celebrates after comfortably seeing off the Briton's challenge 'I broke my toe on my right foot. I couldn't push off the right foot to throw the right hand. I thought adrenaline would get me through it but it was tough. It's incredibly frustrating.' All the predictions

Blog - #DiaryOfATiredBlackMan "Everyone I Know Goes Away In The End"

Dear Diary, Today I was in a bit of a somber mood once again after a day of long work I found my self pondering on whether to go out which would probably be an unfulfilled night. I found myself feeling sorry for myself that I'm home alone and in a sense lonely. So what do you do at that point, drink? smoke? no you turn to the main man JC... Yes that's right you break out some mood music and in this case it was the Outlaw Johnny Cash! As I listened to the appropriately titled "Hurt" the lyrics stuck out like a 3D Movie "Everyone I know, goes away in the end".. Although I have listened to this particular song so much times at this point what resonated was the correlation between what Cash sung about and my life. It got me thinking of past relationships I've had and when I say relationships that also includes platonic. Friendships that seemed to fade away into mediocrity then finally nothing. The commonality being people I cared a lot for in the past aren&

It is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.
