Movie Madness - Mother's Day Review

Mother's Day Veteran Saw franchise helmer Darren Lynn Bousman continues his foray into the macabre with this remake of the 1989 Troma B-film classic Mother's Day. The revamp will still center on a demented mother (Rebecca De Mornay) and her sons, but will focus on them terrorizing a couple that is residing in their old home rather than the original's theme of a group of hikers being tortured in the woods. The sadistic members of a villainous family return to their childhood home to terrorize the new home owners and their guests. MOTHER'S DAY6.5 OUT OF 10 After a bank robbery has gone wrong, three brothers on the run from the law head for home, only to discover that their mother (Rebecca De Mornay) lost the house in a foreclosure. The new owners and their guests, gathered for an ill-timed birthday party, become the brothers' unwitting hostages." Now let me start by saying this movie made an instant impression on me, being a fan of the psychological horror...

Movie Madness - The Hangover 2 Review

The Hangover Part II Two years after the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug jet to Thailand for Stu's wedding. Stu's plan for a subdued pre-wedding brunch, however, goes seriously awry. THE HANGOVER PART 2: 3 OUT OF 10 RIGHT WHERE DO I START WITH THIS MOVIE, IT'S ONLY RIGHT I GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING AND TOUCH ON THE OVER-RATED PREDECESSOR. THIS FOLLOW UP CONTINUES EXACTLY WHERE IT LEFT OFF WITH THE SAME LOW BROW TOILET HUMOR. I'M A HUGE FAN OF COMEDY AS A GENRE BUT I FIND THIS SERIES AS A LET DOWN THAT RELIES ON DICK AND FART JOKES TO GET OVER. I LIKE COMEDY LIKE THE NEXT PERSON BUT A HALF NAKED ASIAN RUNNING ROUND WITH HIS PENIS OUT IS NOT FUNNY JUST PLAIN STUPID. THE GIMMICKS LIKE THE MONKEY ADD MINIMAL LAUGHS AS ITS ALL BEEN DONE BEFORE MAKING A MOVIE LACKING ORIGINALITY, FAILURE TO CREATE SOLID CHARACTERS JUST SOUTH PARK-ESQUE HUMOR. THIS MOVIE FAILED TO MAKE ME LAUGH MY ASS OFF AND Zach Galifianakis LOOKING LIKE RICK ROSS IS TH...

MOVIE MADNESS - LITTLE FOCKERS & TRON REVIEW

MEET THE PARENTS: LITTLE FOCKERS 8 OUT OF 10 (MOVIE OF THE WEEK) It has taken 10 years, two little Fockers with wife Pam and countless hurdles for Greg to finally get "in" with his tightly wound father-in-law, Jack. When Greg and Pam's entire clan-including Pam's lovelorn ex, Kevin descends for the twins' birthday party, Greg must prove to the skeptical Jack that he's fully capable as the man of the house. But with all the misunderstandings, spying and covert missions, will Greg pass Jack's final test and become the family's next patriarch...or will the circle of trust be broken for good? Right to start with this new installment to the franchise is definitely what you would expect, not shying away to what brought made it a franchise to begin with the magic is rekindled between Ben Stiller and not Teri Polo but veteran Robert De Niro! The movie starts with an introduction to the newest addition to the Focker clan in a son and daughter who i fee...

MOVIE MADNESS - THIS WEEKS REVIEWS

YOU AGAIN * * (2 OUT OF 5) Right this movie attracted me I have to admit from the elder cast of Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, True Lies) and Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar) as well as newcomer Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Gossip Girl). This movie centers around Bell who plays a successful PR who head to her hometown for her elder brother wedding. Much to her chagrin he is marrying her high school bully who seems to have forgotten all the misery she caused her. If this isn't enough the brides Aunt (Weaver) is brought face to face with her old high school nemesis in the mother of Bell (Curtis). Well to start off this movie takes leads off the premise and shows us some of the turmoil the lead character was subjected to which early garner the sympathy towards her. This movie had potential to be a much better comedy than it is but with a poor script and lackluster acting it is easily flawed in comparison of other similar comedies. The film doesn't leave a la...
