R.I.P. Michelle Forbes-Greaves

My 31-year-old cousin who was eight months pregnant died in a single-car crash Wednesday morning in Bridgehampton when the car she was driving struck a tree, police said.

Michelle Forbes-Greaves of Bridgehampton was driving south on the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike at 8 a.m. when she crossed into the northbound lane, sideswiped a tree and then hit a second tree head on, according to Southampton Town police. There were no passengers, police said.

Bridgehampton Fire Department responded and extricated Forbes-Greaves from the vehicle, a 2001 Saturn four-door. Police said they impounded the car for further investigation and a safety check. Forbes-Greaves was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the Suffolk County medical examiner's office in Hauppauge, according to police.

Police said the crash occurred near the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreation Center and the road remained closed for about three hours. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, police added.

Not a cousin I have met but still saddened to hear this my heart and thoughts go out to the family may Allah bless you all and give you strength in a tough time.
