MOVIE MADNESS - THIS WEEKS REVIEWS

YOU AGAIN * * (2 OUT OF 5) Right this movie attracted me I have to admit from the elder cast of Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, True Lies) and Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar) as well as newcomer Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Gossip Girl). This movie centers around Bell who plays a successful PR who head to her hometown for her elder brother wedding. Much to her chagrin he is marrying her high school bully who seems to have forgotten all the misery she caused her. If this isn't enough the brides Aunt (Weaver) is brought face to face with her old high school nemesis in the mother of Bell (Curtis). Well to start off this movie takes leads off the premise and shows us some of the turmoil the lead character was subjected to which early garner the sympathy towards her. This movie had potential to be a much better comedy than it is but with a poor script and lackluster acting it is easily flawed in comparison of other similar comedies. The film doesn't leave a la...

WEEKLY ROUND UP (13-19 - DEC - 2010)

Afternoon Folks! As if I don't do enough as it is i've decided it would make sense that i do a weekly round up on my blog, to pretty much put the random blurbs together lol and keep y'all updated on my weekly happenings. So today is where I'm going to start at "whoo hoo". Well this week has been an eventful one bit of a slow pace but was able to get a few instrumental things done, broke up from the rat races which is a good look as it will give me some room to do more over this holiday season. Maybe off the cusp of my movie reenactments lol I was approached to be involved in an upcoming theatrical play next year about "Pimps & Riches" i'm just waiting on more information on that and will update y'all as I know more but it sounds exciting though I suffer from stage fright *bites nails*..... I managed to get some new poems up which i've been trying to upload for a while via my phone but for some silly reason it wont let me copy and pas...

POEM - EMOTIONALLY UNAVAILABLE

Emotionally Unavailable I miss you so much, Sometimes I just sit and wonder, Thinking what I did and what went wrong, We hit it off instantly started so well, What once was fulfilled now an empty shell, Thoughts dwell in the depths of my mind, That having lots of women is unsatisfying, None can compare to our amour, We had such a good rapport, What happened? The days are long and filled with laughter, Quiet nights staring at the walls thinking, A tailspin of depression and loneliness, Are you so callous to truly feel no regrets? Oh the stress! Joy today, struggle tomorrow, Being without you fills me with sorrow, A tough pill to swallow, Noticeably draining you, Loving someone emotionally unavailable, by Alfonso P. Sosa

Poem: The Crystal Ship

Appropriately entitled the crystal ship as Inspired by the same title track of The Doors. A poem about escapism The Crystal Ship Before I slip into unconsciousness, I visualize the crystal ship, Experience a world of bliss, In sanctuary you won't forget, And as the world comes falling down, Take shelter in the underground, Enclosed within wonderful sights, Lift off and we take flight, I've got to get away on a journey to another plane, Head spiraling around like a hurricane, Search for escape all the time, I need a guide to lead me through the labyrinth in my mind, A journey through the eyes of a troubled soul, Sympathy evoked from the struggle & woes, Will the storm finally weather, I long to escape to a place from the all the pressure, I long for some pleasure once again, The final measure a new beginning, No longer to listen, To wasted ambitions, Hypocrites giving there best catechism, A fall from grace, Driven to a place, I can r...

PREVIEW OF MY UPCOMING ARTICLE IN REAL TALK MAGAZINE

" Last edition of the magazine I had to opportunity to introduce myself and give a preview into some of the work that I am working on. What was predominately featured was the book which I’m in the midst of devising entitled “Memorandum of Understanding” which explores love, intimacy and commitment in today’s relationships. Since then I’ve been continuing my work on said but also have gained the opportunity to embark on some new ventures. I’ve been working with children and young people this past year providing open opportunities to play and enjoy their leisure time and to learn and develop in fun, friendly, safe and caring environments for children and young people aged between four and thirteen years old. This has been an enriching experience to work with the youth of a city which has a vast amount of children and young people and be an advocate for there rights to play, and the benefits of play. Recently I have also undertaken studies in the area of violence against women and th...

Poem: Laying In her Bed (Thinking Of You)

Laying In her Bed (Thinking Of You) The clock strikes 12 as p assion is rising, Intensifying, querulous subsiding, For now thoughts hiding, As my minds being occupied, Riding, colliding with what's been locked inside, Unwinding the heights where climax has reached, Energy dissolves from where it did peak, And now I find myself simply confused, How I'm laying In her bed thinking of you, The aroma of sweet perfume in the air, Beside me she lies I sense that she cares, Her arm clutching around me with gentle finger strokes, Deftly I withdraw the more that she emotes, Comfort feels good but something's not right, Faced with an image engaged in my sight, Conflicted with plight of If only she knew, That I'm laying in her bed thinking of you, Been together for a while now, But things aren't the same, All that's in common is misery and pain, At what does it gain when the thrill has been lost, Reflections on past directions that cost, Giving up hope i...

Poem: The Look Of Love

The Look of Love When I look at you, I feel you in the pit of my stomach, My heart is filled with burning desire, Hot like 90 degrees of summer, I feel how I felt the first second I saw you, I feel how we clicked, I see your radiant smile, Forth from your pretty lips, Words can't describe my feelings at this time, I try convey emotions through these oblique rhymes, Longing for your touch, Perfecting what life begun, When I look at you I see a wondrous time to come. by Alfonso P.
